Seaside Holiday + Bulgarian Traditions? Why Not!
If you are staying in Byala during the first weekend of September, we have a special suggestion for you – take some time for a unique cultural experience just a short trip away from the sea.
On September 5 and 6, 2026, the Krivini Ethnographic Complex, near Dolni Chiflik, will transform into an authentic Bulgarian Revival-era village for the first edition of the “Krivini Festival – A Celebration of Bulgarian Heritage.”
You can look forward to traditional Bulgarian folk songs and dances, historical reenactments, traditional crafts, authentic folk costumes, Bulgarian customs and entertainment for visitors of all ages.
The stage will feature popular Bulgarian performers including Valya Balkanska, Desi Dobreva, Volodya Stoyanov, Ivelina Koleva, Strandzha Ensemble and many other beloved artists. The highlight of the festival will be the spectacular historical reenactment “Time of Parting.”
This is a wonderful opportunity to combine your seaside holiday with a memorable journey back in time – surrounded by nature, history and authentic Bulgarian traditions.
And there is an even more meaningful reason to visit: by purchasing a ticket, you will also support a good cause. All ticket proceeds will be donated to renovation works at the “Holy Nativity of the Virgin Mary” Church in Dolni Chiflik.
When: September 5–6, 2026
Where: Krivini Ethnographic Complex, near Dolni Chiflik
